Our Mission, Vision, and Model
Our Vision
The Community Prayer Room exists to facilitate John 17 unity in the Charlottesville Albemarle community and beyond.
We believe that there is one Church under the Lordship of Jesus. We believe that God is gathering and uniting the church in this region according to the prayer of Jesus in John 17: 21 “I pray that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” The prayer room functions to to host the presence of God (unity with God) and to facilitate oneness (unity with others) among believers in the community.
Our Mission
The Mission of the Community Prayer Room is to Gather the Regional Body of Christ for Worship, Prayer and Kingdom Ministry.
The Community Prayer Room made available to the community 24-hours each day, 6-days each week for the purpose of priesthood ministry to the Lord in worship and prayer. CPR is a ministry of the Dwelling Place Christian Community and exists for encounter and partnership with God. We meet in unity with other like-minded individuals and groups in the region. Our goal is to reveal the glory of God and extend His kingdom on the earth: in our community first, then central Virginia and beyond.
Our Model
The Model of Ministry at the Community Prayer Room is to host the presence of God by honoring Him in worship and to seeking His face in prayer. We also gather to equip the saints for mutual ministry and outreach.
We believe that when two or more believers gather in the name of Jesus that He is among us. We host and honor His presence by worship (thanksgiving, praise and adoration) and seeking His face in prayer (listening, petitioning and intercessory). We also gather to live in radical obedience to Jesus by equipping the saints for mutual ministry and disciple-making in our community and beyond.
