We believe that waiting on God is not like waiting for a bus, instead it is much like waiting tables. We believe that we are not waiting around for God to show up or move. Instead, waiting means that we attend to the Lord, or give our attention to Him–meditating on His word day and night.
There is a song by Community Music that says, “I will make room for you, to do whatever you want to.”
Our first and foremost priority is to pursue the true knowledge of God with all our hearts. There is truly no greater calling than to lay one’s life down to seek the Lord, love Him, and be loved by Him. This is not to say that God will not call you to certain vocations or ways of serving. What we mean is that we want our lives to grow roots that are deep and wide in the Lord. This is how we grow our intimacy with Jesus. It’s a relationship that must be nurtured and pursued.
Part of being rooted in a presence based community means being friends. We are a spiritual family. Caring for one another in this family means that we listen to one another and pray for one another. We encourage and stand with one another and help on another to grow in your relationship with Christ. The more we lean into Him and the life He calls us to, the more He can be the “one thing” that occupies our hearts and minds above all else. Living a life that is intimate with Christ is a life that is also led by Christ. Acts 17:28 says, “for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’”
We can trust God in the waiting and in any and every season! He is consistently inviting us into intimacy with Him–calling us to worship in spirit and in truth. Come join us here at Dwelling Place for a gathering of believers who are all in for Jesus and the love and life that He offers.
